Blogging in the New Year

December 30, 2007
As 2007 comes to an end, we thought that a great way to start our own blog going in the new year would be with a discussion about what blogs really are.  We have all heard of them (hey, you’re reading one right now!), but what’s the big deal about blogs? How do they really work?  Check out this short video from Common Craft.

Happy Holidays from RAC-CEMS!

December 20, 2007

We will be blogging in full force in early 2008, and are excited to begin sharing ideas! In the meantime, we encourage all of our readers to visit the raccems.org website to learn about the Center for Excellence in Math and Science, browse through our mathematics and science resources for educators, students, and parents, and check out upcoming events.

If you have a submission or topic of interest that you would like to see discussed, please contact us! Happy Holidays, and have a safe New Year!

Welcome to The STEM Blog!

December 19, 2007

At the RAC-CEMS November 16th Educator’s Collaboration Event we presented our teacher-focused initial strategy to 200 attendees from K-12 and higher education, and asked for feedback. Themes of the feedback included that opportunities for collaboration are important to educators, as well as that there is a need for more opportunities to collaborate. We hear you! We are developing and expanding programs and initiatives to allow for collaboration among educators across disciplines, grade levels and institutions.

We will use this interactive forum to share news about the Center as well as STEM-related topics and issues. We welcome and encourage your comments!
