We have discovered another great enrichment site for students! MathMovesU.com is a very interactive website that allows students to “explore stuff they’re into, have fun, and pick up some cool math skills along the way!” Students select a character that represents them, and then move their characters through different settings, learn fun facts about the world around them, and play math games. Students can enter Math Moves University to get help with specific math topics!
Playing with the site, I selected a dog for my character and set my grade level to “6th Grade or Lower” (options also include “7th Grade” and “8th Grade and Higher”). I passed through the different settings (through a concert stage and athletic field) and decided to play a math game in the city. My task was to make different combinations of numbers by using different operations. The graphics and settings in this website are catchy and unique, and I never would have known that I was really learning and practicing math facts as I played the different games!
Try out your math skills at MathMovesU and let us know what you thought!
